Marika Jaaniste

Marika Jaaniste is a Senior Associate at Hammarskiöld, working within the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice. She advises Swedish and international clients in complex commercial disputes, with extensive experience in domestic and international arbitration proceedings as well as litigation before Swedish courts.

Marika regularly works on large-scale and cross-border dispute matters, including disputes with a strong intellectual property component. Her practice covers both stand-alone IP matters and IP-related disputes, often in situations where intellectual property issues are closely intertwined with broader commercial, contractual or regulatory questions. She is regularly involved in advising clients on case strategy and risk assessment in legally and commercially complex situations.

Marika has previously worked as a secondee at Systembolaget, where she gained in-house experience advising on marketing and IP-related matters as well as corporate law issues. This experience gives her a strong understanding of how dispute risk, IP strategy and regulatory considerations interact from a client perspective.

She works closely with clients, in-house legal teams and senior counsel throughout all stages of the dispute resolution process and regularly plays a leading role in integrated dispute teams, working together with partners and international counsel.
