Adam Runestam, associate at Hammarskiöld, specialising in arbitration and litigation, has written a practice note for the SCC regarding the SCC’s decisions on prima facie jurisdiction between 2013–2023. Notably, out of 269 cases in which the SCC determined its prima facie jurisdiction, only eleven cases were dismissed for manifest lack of jurisdiction. This confirms the SCC’s pro-arbitration stance. Adam wrote the practice note during his internship at the SCC in the beginning of this year. The internship boosted Adam in his career working with arbitration and litigation, and has even further strengthened the ties between the SCC and Hammarskiöld.
