Hammarskiöld was appointed by the Swedish Academy to carry out an investigation of the Academy’s ties to a Swedish “culture personality” and his club “Forum”, who had been accused of a number of wrongdoings. The investigation included, inter alia, questions regarding potential breaches of the statutes of the Academy and alleged leaks of winners of the Nobel prize in literature before they became public.
